Office of Inspector General of Medicaid Services moves from independent entity status to an office within the Department of Government Operations, effective May 6, 2026

Executive director of Government Operations must establish performance metrics for the office covering key performance indicators, financial recoveries, return on investment, reporting practices, stakeholder communication, and employee performance

Creates the Office of Inspector General of Medicaid Services Advisory Board to coordinate Medicaid program integrity activities, review audit priorities, address employee concerns, and review agencies' implementation of audit recommendations; advisory board sunsets July 1, 2029

Inspector general must submit annual reports to the Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee, collaborate with the Legislative Auditor General, and present on emerging fraud trends and investigations at legislative committee meetings

Establishes whistleblower protections prohibiting retaliatory action against employees who report concerns in good faith through the executive director's reporting process
