Office of Professional Licensure Review must conduct scope of practice reviews to evaluate whether healthcare occupations should incorporate technological innovations that could expand their licensed practice

Legislators, healthcare employers, higher education institutions, and professional healthcare groups may request a scope of practice review through an approved form

Review advisory groups must include at least two individuals from the affected regulated occupation (one board-approved), plus optional representatives from employers, educational institutions, and technical experts

Reviews evaluate innovations based on evidence of improved safety, accessibility, and affordability of care; patient risk levels; stakeholder interest; training availability; and adoption in other jurisdictions

Office submits preliminary reports to the Business and Labor Interim Committee, which may recommend legislation or administrative rules, before publishing a final report; effective May 6, 2026
