Sheriffs must allow attorneys licensed in good standing by any state to enter county jails to meet with current, former, or prospective clients, as well as potential witnesses or individuals with information pertinent to criminal cases the attorney is handling

Meetings with prospective clients are permitted when requested by the prisoner, their family, or someone on their behalf, or when related to potential civil rights representation

Jails must provide private and confidential meeting spaces for attorney-prisoner consultations, with standard meeting hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays

Sheriffs may designate another person to manage attorney access procedures and must publish the designee's name on the sheriff's website, jail website, and other accessible locations
