Sign owners whose outdoor advertising must be relocated or remodeled due to highway widening, construction, or reconstruction may erect signs up to 65 feet above ground, or higher if needed for visibility from the main-traveled highway

Existing height restrictions under Section 72-7-505(2) do not apply to relocated or remodeled signs affected by highway projects

Sign owners may proceed with relocation or remodeling 30 days after submitting a written request to the municipality or county, without requiring further local government approval

Local governments that prohibit relocation or remodeling must pay just compensation to the sign owner

Effective date is May 6, 2026, or earlier if approved by two-thirds of both legislative chambers
