Amends the 1942 charter for the Town of Chatham in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to update outdated provisions and modernize language throughout the document

Removes obsolete town power to inspect, test, measure, and weigh commodities and regulate weights, meters, measures, and scales (former subsection 11)

Replaces references to "town sergeant" with "chief of police" throughout the charter to reflect current law enforcement terminology

Removes outdated salary caps for council members ($600 annually) and mayor ($1,200 annually), instead requiring salaries be set in accordance with Virginia Code § 15.2-1414.7

Adds new Section 15.1 requiring all charter provisions to be interpreted in a gender-neutral manner, with pronouns applying to all genders
