Makes the current Virginia standard deduction amounts permanent by removing the January 1, 2027 expiration date that would have reverted deductions to lower amounts

Maintains the standard deduction at $8,750 for single filers and $17,500 for married couples filing jointly for taxable years beginning on and after January 1, 2025

Without this change, standard deductions would have dropped to $3,000 for single filers and $6,000 for married couples starting January 1, 2027

Married individuals filing separately would continue to receive half the standard deduction amount ($8,750)
