Reduces the required break in service from six months to one month for Virginia Retirement System retirees who return to work full-time as licensed instructional or administrative employees for local public school boards while continuing to receive their retirement allowance

Maintains the existing six-month break in service requirement for retirees returning to specialized student support positions or school bus driver positions

Applies to retirees who meet additional conditions: not receiving early retirement incentive benefits and filling positions identified as having shortages by the Superintendent of Public Instruction, division superintendent, or local school board

Amends § 51.1-155 of the Code of Virginia relating to service retirement allowances under the Virginia Retirement System
