Requires each local school board to employ at least one career coach in every public high school in the school division

Career coach duties include assisting students with securing internships, externships, and credentialing opportunities required by the Profile of a Virginia Graduate; providing information on apprenticeship programs; and connecting students to career opportunities

Career coaches must work under the direction of school counselors to assist with direct counseling related to college and career readiness

Career coach positions must be employed in addition to, not as a replacement for, existing school counselor positions, specialized student support positions, or support services positions
