Allows retired sworn law-enforcement officers to return to full-time law enforcement work while continuing to receive their Virginia Retirement System pension benefits

Requires a minimum six-month break in service between retirement and returning to full-time law enforcement employment

Establishes eligibility conditions including: no early retirement incentive benefits from schools or other employers, no participation in certain 1995 incentive programs, and retirement in good standing from the original law enforcement position

Specifies that service and compensation during return-to-work employment will not affect retirement benefits, and returning officers cannot receive additional Chapter 6.1 retirement benefits

Takes effect January 1, 2027
