Extends the mandatory waiting period for landlords to terminate a rental agreement due to unpaid rent from 5 days to 14 days after serving written notice to the tenant

Applies the same 14-day notice requirement when rent payments fail due to insufficient funds checks or rejected electronic funds transfers

Landlords must wait the full 14-day period before proceeding to terminate the lease and obtain possession of the premises through court action

Amends § 55.1-1245 of the Virginia Residential Landlord and Tenant Act, affecting both the currently effective version and the future version set to take effect after COVID-19 emergency provisions expire
