Virginia Department of Health must convene a work group focused on reducing suicides among at-risk populations, including youth, veterans, rural residents, LGBTQ+ individuals, and communities of color

Work group must develop a statewide strategic plan every five years that identifies key performance indicators (KPIs) and proposes a framework for data collection, sharing, and cross-agency collaboration

Annual interim reports required beginning November 1, 2026, tracking progress toward KPIs, comparing Virginia to other states, and making legislative and budget recommendations

Work group membership includes representatives from Health, Behavioral Health, Veterans Services, Education, Corrections, Medicaid, suicide prevention organizations, and individuals with lived experience

First statewide strategic plan due November 1, 2027, with reports submitted to the Governor, Joint Commission on Health Care, and relevant legislative committee chairs
