Requires applicants for compact-eligible dentist and dental hygienist licensure to complete a criminal background check through fingerprint submission to the FBI via Virginia's Central Criminal Records Exchange

Applicants must pay for all fingerprinting and criminal history record search costs

The Central Criminal Records Exchange will forward criminal history results to the Board of Dentistry

Applicants denied licensure based on criminal history records may request procedures to obtain and dispute their records from both the FBI and Central Criminal Records Exchange

Criminal history information obtained through this process cannot be disseminated except as specifically authorized by this section
