Amends Virginia Code § 19.2-386.29 governing forfeiture of weapons used in criminal offenses, including pistols, shotguns, rifles, knives, and other weapons

Adds the attorney for the Commonwealth as a party who may petition the court for return of forfeited weapons to their lawful owner

Maintains existing requirement that lawful owners seeking return of weapons must demonstrate they did not know of the criminal conduct and are not prohibited from possessing the weapon

Requires owners who recover forfeited weapons to file a sworn affidavit acknowledging they have retaken possession of the weapon
