Amends Virginia Code § 53.1-187 to expand credit for time served while awaiting trial to include time spent confined in another state awaiting extradition to Virginia

Persons extradited pursuant to a Commonwealth extradition warrant or fugitive warrant will receive credit toward their sentence for time spent in confinement in the other state

Credit for extradition confinement applies only when the person was held solely on the extradition or fugitive warrant, not for any other offenses allegedly committed in that state

Maintains existing provisions that credit applies to time in state hospitals, correctional facilities, or juvenile detention facilities awaiting trial, including time on dismissed or nolle prosequi charges from the same act

Preserves restrictions denying credit to persons on bail, escapees, or those absent without leave from detention facilities
