State correctional facilities housing women must submit monthly summaries to the Director tracking the number of pregnant prisoners, postpartum prisoners, total women prisoners, total prisoners, and deaths among pregnant or postpartum inmates.

Local and regional correctional facilities must submit quarterly data through the Local Inmate Data System to the Compensation Board with the same categories of information about pregnant and postpartum prisoners.

Monthly summaries from state facilities must also be submitted to the Maternal Mortality Review Team and the Chairs of the House and Senate Committees for Courts of Justice.

The Compensation Board must share data received from local and regional facilities with the Maternal Mortality Review Team and legislative committee chairs.

The bill amends § 53.1-40.14 and adds § 53.1-133.010 to the Code of Virginia to establish these reporting requirements.
