The Superintendent of Public Instruction is required to consistently implement a state program to support improvement of low-performing schools based on Board of Education accountability standards within accreditation standards.

The Board of Education must ensure the Superintendent and Department administer an effective school improvement program to support low-performing schools.

The bill amends Virginia Code §§ 2.2-3705.3 and 22.1-253.13:3, with technical updates to subsection references in the public records disclosure provisions to accommodate the new school improvement requirements.
