Commends Charles W. Foster, Jr., Sheriff of Wythe County, on his retirement in 2025 after nearly 38 years of service with the Wythe County Sheriff's Office

Foster began his law enforcement career in 1987 as a dispatcher and advanced through positions including jailer, patrol deputy, investigator, patrol supervisor, civil supervisor, and chief deputy sheriff before being elected sheriff in 2021

During his tenure as sheriff, Foster implemented advancements in public safety technology, community policing initiatives, and crime prevention strategies while securing competitive wages for officers and staff

Recognizes Foster's mentorship of fellow law enforcement officers throughout his career and his commitment to public safety, community partnerships, and professionalism

Directs the Clerk of the House of Delegates to prepare a copy of the resolution for presentation to Foster
