Began working for Fairfax County as a draftsman in 1959 and held more than 20 job titles, arranging funding for the Dulles Toll Road and maintaining the county's AAA financial rating

Led the Claude Moore Foundation in awarding more than $110 million in grants to nonprofits focused on workforce development, education, and health care in Northern Virginia

Created the Claude Moore Scholars program in 2005, which expanded to 56 school systems statewide and invested over $20 million supporting more than 22,000 young people

Recognized as a Loudoun Laurel in 2015 and Changemaker of the Year in 2024 by the Community Foundation of Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties
