The Friends of Pleasant Grove was established in the 1980s by local citizens and descendants of founding trustees to save the church from demolition and restore it

The organization created a museum in the church's lower level featuring artifacts from founding member William Sanford Sharper, dedicated in memory of his granddaughter Frances K. Moore

The group hosts educational and cultural activities including an annual Christmas Singalong, Jubilee Voices show, Spring Open House, and community events
