Served as chief of staff for Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, where she led initiatives including the renovation and expansion of Spring Hill Recreation Center

Worked as a senior officer at the National Captioning Institute, contributing to accessibility services for millions of Americans, after earlier careers in education and at the law firm Arnold & Porter

Volunteered as project manager helping build Chesterbrook Residences, an affordable assisted living facility in McLean, and served on the board of Reproductive Freedom for All

Survived by her husband of 44 years, Jim; four children; and 11 grandchildren who called her "Nona"
