Attended North Carolina State University and later founded a small clothing business in California, creating and selling handmade tie-dye apparel at fairs and festivals

Survived by his wife Heather, mother Esther, brothers Andrew and Steven, and nieces and nephews Sam, Kip, Mary-Catherine, and Charleston Paige

Directs the Clerk of the House of Delegates to present a copy of the resolution to the family as an expression of the General Assembly's respect
