Maymont, a 100-acre estate in Richmond, celebrates its 100th anniversary as a public space in 2026, having opened to the public on January 1, 1926

James and Sallie Dooley built the 33-room mansion between 1893 and 1925, then bequeathed the property to the City of Richmond upon their deaths for use as a park and museum

The estate was listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and National Register of Historic Places in 1971, with the Maymont Foundation taking over management in 1975

Maymont now welcomes over one million visitors annually with free admission to the grounds, offering tours, educational programs, seasonal festivals, and concerts

The General Assembly commends Maymont and directs the Clerk of the House of Delegates to present a copy of the resolution to the Maymont Foundation
