Anna Lou Aaroe Schaberg, a Richmond-area educator and philanthropist, died on July 31, 2025, and this resolution honors her life and contributions

Served as coordinator of programs for gifted students with Richmond Public Schools beginning in 1977, creating the Special Program for Academic and Creative Excellence

Co-chaired the planning group for the Maggie L. Walker Governor's School and developed summer programs, special events, and staff development initiatives

Founded the Bob and Anna Lou Schaberg Foundation in 1990 with her husband, which currently supports more than 95 nonprofit organizations in affordable housing, workforce development, and education

The General Assembly directs the Clerk of the House of Delegates to present a copy of this resolution to her family
