The Roanoke Chapter of The Links, Inc. celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2025, having been chartered on October 7, 1950, with 17 original members

The chapter serves African American communities through five programming areas: youth services, the arts, national trends and services, international trends and services, and health and human services

The chapter created the "Linked to Success: Growing up G.R.E.A.T." program in 2018 to address student achievement gaps and chronic absenteeism at Hurt Park Elementary School, earning Legacy Program and Best Practices Awards

Current activities include raising health awareness, awarding scholarships to high school seniors, honoring women veterans, and running educational and mentorship programs

The General Assembly formally commends the organization for its 75 years of community service in the Greater Roanoke region
