Represented Bedford, Franklin, and Rockbridge Counties in the House of Delegates from 1979 to 1982

Served as 15th president of Shenandoah University for 26 years beginning in 1982, overseeing significant academic growth, enrollment expansion, and campus development

Supported numerous civic and charitable organizations including the Evans Home for Children, Northern Shenandoah Valley Community Foundation, and various faith-based ministries

The House of Delegates directs the Clerk to present a copy of this resolution to his family in his memory
