Graduated from Prince George High School in 1980 and studied business administration at Virginia State University, where she participated in the Gospel Chorale and Trojan Explosion marching band

Served in multiple public service roles including deputy director of the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority, director of the Hopewell Electoral Board, and general registrar of the City of Hopewell

Elected in 2024 to represent Ward 6 on the Hopewell City Council

Directs the Clerk of the House of Delegates to present a copy of the resolution to her family, including her son Xavier and eight siblings
