The Longest Table is a nonprofit-supported community movement that began in New York City's Chelsea neighborhood in 2022, bringing diverse individuals together for shared meals to reduce social isolation and build community connections

The movement has expanded to more than 50 cities nationwide and internationally, supported by NYCNext, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

On May 3, 2025, the Town of Vienna hosted a Longest Table event on Mill Street adjacent to the Vienna Town Green, accommodating 400 participants for a potluck lunch benefiting the local nonprofit Rustic Love

The House of Delegates formally commends The Longest Table initiative for fostering unity, compassion, and connection through communal meals

The Clerk of the House is directed to prepare a copy of the resolution for presentation to The Longest Table organizers
