Vienna Community Band, Inc. is commended on its 50th anniversary, having been established in 1975 to support the Town of Vienna's participation in the U.S. Bicentennial celebration

The band commissioned a new musical work called "Archer Overture" by composer Gary Nash, premiering March 22, 2026, honoring Louise A. Archer, an educator who led the Vienna Colored School from 1922 to 1948

The organization is a designated VA250 Commemorative Partner, collaborating with town officials to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution through free public performances from December 2025 through July 4, 2026

The Clerk of the House of Delegates is directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the Vienna Community Band as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration
