Clipse, a Virginia Beach hip-hop duo consisting of brothers Gene "Malice" Thornton and Terrence "Pusha T" Thornton, won their first Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on February 1, 2026

The duo won for their song "Chains & Whips" featuring Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell Williams, from their July 2025 comeback album Let God Sort Em Out

Clipse received additional Grammy nominations for Album of the Year, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song for "The Birds Don't Sing," and Best Music Video for "So Be It"

The resolution directs the Clerk of the House of Delegates to present a copy to Gene and Terrence Thornton recognizing their contributions to Virginia's musical landscape
