Honors William Edward Jamerson, Sr., of Appomattox County, who died on October 19, 2025, at the conclusion of a life of athletic achievement, business success, and public service

Recognized his 21-year career as an Atlantic Coast Conference football referee, officiating approximately 200 major college games and 11 bowl games, following his time as a Virginia Tech football player on the undefeated 1954 team

Acknowledges his co-founding of J. E. Jamerson and Sons, Inc., a construction company that became one of the largest and most respected in the region

Notes his public service on the Appomattox County Board of Supervisors and his founding of Grace Hills Early Learning Center

Received an honorary doctorate from the University of Lynchburg and the Alumni Distinguished Service Award from Virginia Tech in 1990; survived by his wife of 69 years, Ellen, and two sons
