Krystal Kelly, history teacher at Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach, is commended for being named the 2025 Tallwood High School Teacher of the Year

Kelly is an alumna of Tallwood High School who earned a bachelor's degree in history from Livingstone College and a master's degree in teaching with a history education concentration from North Carolina A&T State University

Teaches standard and Advanced Placement courses in United States history, European history, African American history, and psychology

Serves Virginia Beach Public Schools beyond the classroom as a member of the African American History Resources and Design Committee, senior project advisor, JV girls' basketball coach, student council advisor, and department chair

Active community member through the Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
