Major Joseph R. Denti served as commander and conductor of the 553rd Air Force Band (Air National Guard Band of the Northeast) from 2006 until his retirement in 2025

Denti holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in instrumental conducting from George Mason University (2013) and deployed to Southwest Asia in 2010 leading missions with the U.S. Air Forces Central band High Altitude

Received numerous military decorations including the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal

Outside military service, Denti works as an instrumental music educator with Fairfax County Public Schools and serves as a guest conductor for multiple orchestras in the Mid-Atlantic region

The Virginia House of Delegates formally commends Major Denti upon his retirement and directs the Clerk to present him with a copy of the resolution
