Hawkins-Reeve Post 7916 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Occoquan, Virginia, will celebrate its 80th anniversary on June 26, 2026, having been established in 1946 by 37 combat veterans from the Occoquan, Woodbridge, and Lorton areas.

The post is named after Lieutenant Junior Grade Claggett Hartwood Hawkins (Naval Reserve pilot) and Second Lieutenant Charles Douglas Reeve (Army Air Corps pilot), both killed in the line of duty in 1944.

The post has been designated "All-American" by the national VFW organization, ranking it among the top posts out of more than 6,300 worldwide.

Community service activities include mentoring local youth through Scout troops and Little League, supporting Memorial Day and Veterans Day observances, laying wreaths at Quantico National Cemetery, and preparing meals for those in need.

The Virginia House of Delegates formally commends the post for its 80 years of service to veterans, service members, families, and the Occoquan community.
