Commends Fair Oaks Elementary School in Henrico County for 100 years of service to the community

The school originated as a Rosenwald School, part of a network funded by philanthropist Julius Rosenwald to provide education for Black students during the Jim Crow era

The current main building was constructed in 1950 and served the Black community until integration; the school closed during 1969-1970 while new zoning plans were developed and reopened in fall 1970 as a fully integrated school

The school currently maintains 21 classrooms and serves 400-500 students in kindergarten through fifth grade in the Highland Springs community

Directs the Clerk of the House of Delegates to prepare a copy of the resolution for presentation to the school
