Norview Baptist Church is commended by the Virginia House of Delegates on its 100th anniversary, having been founded on May 31, 1925, with 45 charter members in Norfolk

The church overcame adversity when its original building burned down in 1947, temporarily holding services at Norview High School before constructing a new building at the Five Points intersection in 1949

By the 1960s, the congregation grew to more than 1,000 members with some of the highest Sunday school and vacation Bible school enrollments in Virginia

The church has contributed to regional growth by helping establish new churches, including Bayside Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, and supporting local and foreign missions

Norview Baptist Church continues community outreach through a food pantry and clothing closet, guided by its mission of "loving Five Points and beyond for the glory of God"
