Commends the Smithfield branch of the Blackwater Regional Library on its 100th anniversary, celebrated January 10, 2026

The library originated in April 1924 when Smithfield's Shakespeare Class and Woman's Club secured funding, opening January 26, 1925 with a collection of 100 books

In 1945, Cora Leigh Chapman donated her home on South Church Street to serve as the library, which became known as the Benjamin P. Chapman Memorial Library

The library joined the Blackwater Regional Library system in 1974 and relocated to its current location at the former Smithfield High School at 255 James Street in 1989

Directs the Clerk of the House of Delegates to prepare a copy of the resolution for presentation to the library
