August Bryant Bullock, known as "Augie," was a Newport News educator and arts supporter who died on October 6, 2025

Devoted over 40 years to Virginia school divisions as a teacher, principal, assistant principal, curriculum supervisor, and associate superintendent

Made significant contributions to American regional theater, including serving as director of new works with the District of Columbia Black Theater Festival and involvement with the International Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Served on the Hampton Roads Transit Board of Commissioners and as chair of the Education Committee for the Newport News Branch of the NAACP, where he was a life member

The House of Delegates directs the Clerk to prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to his family in his memory
