House Resolution honoring Kenneth Mason Easley, Jr., a Chesapeake native and NFL defensive back who died on November 14, 2025

Easley graduated from Oscar F. Smith High School, becoming the first Virginia High School League player to rush and pass for more than 1,000 yards in a single season

At UCLA, he was a three-time consensus all-American and the first Pacific-10 Conference player to earn first-team all-conference honors for four consecutive years, finishing with a university-record 19 interceptions

Drafted fourth overall by the Seattle Seahawks in 1981, he recorded 32 interceptions over seven NFL seasons and was named Defensive Player of the Year in 1984

His honors include having his number 45 jersey retired by Seattle, induction into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame (1998), Seahawks Ring of Honor (2002), and Pro Football Hall of Fame (2017)
