McArthur Myers, a mental health professional and historical preservationist from Alexandria, Virginia, died on December 4, 2025, and is honored by this resolution from the House of Delegates

Served over 40 years with the District of Columbia's Department of Mental Health after studying administration of justice at American University

Played a pivotal role in establishing nine historical markers recognizing important Black sites in Alexandria and developing the city's African American Heritage Trails

Became the first Black member of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial Association in 2016 and served as Grand Historian of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Virginia

Recognized as a Living Legend of Alexandria in 2020 and received the Ben Brenman Award for Archaeology in 2019 for his preservation work
