Allows residents of assisted living facilities to install electronic monitoring devices (video and/or audio) in their rooms upon written request and informed consent from the resident or legal representative

Requires roommate consent for video monitoring in shared rooms, and audio monitoring is prohibited when roommates are present

Prohibits facilities from refusing admission, discharging, or transferring residents who request authorized electronic monitoring, and staff cannot refuse to enter monitored rooms

Permits facilities to charge a one-time installation fee up to $150, a security deposit up to $250, and monthly fees up to $10 for facility-managed monitoring

Requires facilities to post visible notices at room entrances indicating monitoring is in operation and to notify assigned staff when monitoring is active

Shields assisted living facilities from liability for data or privacy breaches related to electronic monitoring devices
