Requires Virginia localities to ensure operational automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are readily available at all local government sporting facilities during hours of operation and at all locality-organized sporting events

Indoor facilities must have 1 AED for spaces under 10,000 sq ft, 2 AEDs for 10,000-30,000 sq ft, and 2 plus one additional AED per 20,000 sq ft for larger facilities

Outdoor facilities must have 1 AED for areas under 5 acres, 2 AEDs for 5-15 acres, and 2 plus one additional AED per 10 acres for larger facilities

Sporting events held at non-facility locations require 1 AED for under 500 attendees, 2 AEDs for 500-2,000 attendees, and additional AEDs per 1,000 attendees beyond that

Each AED must be clearly marked, publicly accessible, properly maintained, registered with local emergency medical services, and accompanied by location signage; effective July 1, 2028
