Senate Joint Resolution commending the Honorable Johnny E. Morrison upon his retirement in December 2025 after nearly 45 years of service to the Commonwealth of Virginia

Morrison was among the first class of Black students to both study and live on campus at Washington and Lee University in 1970, where he founded the Student Association for Black Unity

Elected Commonwealth's Attorney of Portsmouth in 1981 and served until his selection as a judge of the Portsmouth Circuit Court in 1991

Resolution recognizes his contributions to public trust in the judiciary and the administration of justice in Portsmouth and throughout Virginia
