Alyse Zeffiro, principal of Kerrydale Elementary School in Prince William County, received a 2025 National Distinguished Principal award from the National Association of Elementary School Principals, one of only 43 principals nationwide to earn this honor

Zeffiro became principal of Kerrydale Elementary in 2018 after serving as a classroom teacher and assistant principal in Prince William County Public Schools

Under her leadership, Kerrydale Elementary was named a Model Visible Learning School, a Virginia's Highest Achievement Exemplar School, and a National Title I Distinguished School for closing achievement gaps

The Senate of Virginia formally commends Zeffiro for her selection as a National Distinguished Principal and directs the Clerk of the Senate to present her with a copy of the resolution
