The Miss Isle of Wight County Fair Scholarship Pageant has celebrated leadership, community service, and county fair advocacy since its founding in 2000

Rhonda Pugh Demsko (now Ostman) established the pageant in partnership with Alan Nogiec, former Isle of Wight County Parks and Recreation Director, to serve as an ambassadorial platform for young women

The pageant was revamped in 2018 by current co-directors Jenilee Hallman and Regine Walme-Edwards, who have renewed participation and success in the program

Representatives from the pageant have competed at the Miss Virginia Association of Fairs Pageant, with numerous titleholders earning top placements at the state level

The Senate resolution directs the Clerk to present a copy to the current directors as recognition of the pageant's achievements in promoting agriculture, education, and community pride
