Requires usable floor space per hen to comply with the 2017 United Egg Producers Animal Husbandry Guidelines for Cage-Free Egg Production

Exemptions include medical research, veterinary procedures, agricultural fairs, temporary confinement for husbandry purposes (maximum 6 hours per 24-hour period), and humane slaughter

First-time violations are subject to civil citations with penalties up to $500; second or subsequent violations may result in up to 2 years imprisonment or fines up to $5,000
