School districts must allow military families relocating under orders to register students remotely by mail, telephone, or electronically, with proof of residency required within 10 days after attendance begins.

Students transferring with Section 504 plans or individualized education programs (IEPs) must receive comparable special education services within 30 days of arrival, including record transfers, reevaluations, and necessary meetings.

Children of armed forces members who receive orders directing them outside the school district may continue attending their school of origin through the end of the school year.

Students in grade 11 whose military parent is relocated may remain at their school of origin for an additional school year to complete high school.
