Requires mobile app publishers to provide vehicle occupants with a way to check if any users are connected to the vehicle through smartphone apps and to disconnect those users

Applies to apps that allow users to track vehicle location, remotely start or turn off the vehicle, or perform other functions that would normally require physical presence in the vehicle

Disconnection process must be no more difficult than the connection process, must be performed from inside the vehicle, and cannot require special tools, manufacturer consent, or permission from the user being disconnected

Connected users must be disconnected within 30 minutes after the occupant completes the in-vehicle disconnection process

Violations constitute consumer protection violations under 9 V.S.A. § 2453; effective date is July 1, 2026
