Corrects the title "Adjutant and Inspector General" to "Adjutant General" throughout Vermont statutes, removing "and Inspector" from approximately 40 statutory references across multiple chapters governing the Military Department and National Guard

Defines "Gold Star family member" as any spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, or grandchild of a U.S. Armed Forces member who died while serving or from a service-connected illness or injury, and consolidates the gold star license plate eligibility under this definition

Establishes a hiring preference for spouses of personnel currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces for State government employment, adding them to the existing preference categories for veterans and disabled veterans' spouses

Requires municipalities to allow vehicles with disabled veteran plates issued by any state to park at parking meters without paying fees

Takes effect July 1, 2026
