Vermont General Assembly extends condolences to the Bennington Police Department on the death of K-9 Officer Gracie, who died suddenly on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024

K-9 Gracie completed over 500 deployments, located more than 70 persons, and contributed to recovery of drugs and currency valued in excess of $1.6 million

K-9 program was established by Bennington Police Chief Paul J. Doucette Jr. and Lt. Camillo A. Grande, with Officer Robert Murawski serving as Gracie's handler

Memorial service attended by more than 500 persons included a choral performance, presentation of a tribute American flag, and 21-gun salute

A new K-9 training yard in Bennington will be dedicated in K-9 Gracie's honor
