Honors Robert Louis Picher, who served as Clerk of the Vermont House of Representatives for 30 years (1963–1993) and again in 2002 on an acting basis, and was elected President of the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries in the 1980s

Picher was born July 30, 1924, in Winooski and died May 10, 2024, at age 99; he graduated from Cathedral High School, Assumption College, and Georgetown University Law School

Served as a World War II U.S. Army combat platoon leader in Europe, returned to active duty during the Korean Conflict, and achieved the rank of Major General in the Vermont State Guard

Prior to becoming House Clerk, served as Executive Clerk to Governor Joseph B. Johnson and Secretary of Civil and Military Affairs under Governor Robert T. Stafford

Directs the Secretary of State to send a copy of this resolution to the Picher family expressing the General Assembly's condolences
